Pond Point Animal Hospital was founded in January of 1973 by Dennis Doughty DVM and Richard Suhie DVM. Since then the staff has grown to three receptionists, an office manager, two veterinary technicians and three kennel attendents.

In 1985 Dr. Doughty retired from active practice and moved to Africa to pursue other interests. K. Paul Rumble DVM was brought on staff in January of 1985 and became a full partner in March of 1986.

In 1987 Pond Point Animal Hospital helped found Shoreline Animal Emergency Clinic in Stratford, CT. Shoreline is now located in Shelton and besides providing emergency care 24/7, it is also a referral center.

In July 2005, Dr. Richard Suhie retired and Dr. K Paul Rumble took over as the sole practice owner.
